Am I the only one who finds these videos to be a pain to watch nowadays? The old RCR is still good, but now that he’s trying to balance being a “serious” reviewer with his old personality (while ridding himself of some of the more risque jokes), I rarely can sit through one of his newer episodes anymore.

He recently unlisted the Dodge Avenger review, which was one of my favorites, because he feared that future business ventures would be damaged by the risque humor.

I just can’t do these anymore. They’re twice as long as they need to be, and the guy is way too clever to stick with dick jokes. These are SOO close to being the kind of thing I could share and enjoy with most of my friends and family, but instead I always feel like I need a shower when I’m done watching.

And I share them with nobody.

I gave up at less than 90 seconds.

Having driven a Golf R stock and tuned, along with my GTI; I can confirm the R with absolutely worth the extra money. It is quite simply fantastic and adept at everything you can ask for a hot hatch to be.

True, it may not excel at any one thing, but it is truly capable without being temperamental.

Can you imagine... let’s say you didn’t really know what RCR was... and you were considering a Golf R or a GTI and stumbled on this video. While eating lunch at your desk at work. The thumbnail says 2018 GOLF R so clearly, you click on it and the first 10 seconds is a bird eating suet and the first sentence is basically NSFW as dialogue goes.

I’d click away and never look back.

I definitely like some of the videos more than others. Most of them have at least one moment that makes me want to laugh out loud. Others have more cringe-y moments than not. There was one where just, out of absolutely nowhere , he cuts in with the gravelly voice and says “c**t pump” for no reason and then goes back to the review. I definitely can’t watch these with my wife.
